- Allert! Alert! Alert! (for mindless optimists)
- A4000 and A1200 are the end of the line *according to Viscorps
- current plans*. There is *no garantee* that this will change.
-

-
- You have probably overestimated the number of users and developers
- who are going to stick around for this. Who wants to use
- Final Writer to do papers on their TV - raise your hands. The prospect
- of doing anything right now in TV resolutions makes me queasy. The idea
- that TV resolution is what we have to look to in the future of the Amiga
- causes projectile vomiting.
- And as I programmer, I'm *really exited* with the prospect
- of the future prospect of outdated personal computer hardware.
-

-
- How are you going to "grow" the general Amiga computer lines (which
- I take to mean Amiga as a personal computer) without upgrading
- CPU or gfx/sound hardware? Are you going to put it in a bigger box?
-
- >I know this may sound a bit vague but I can't say anything more

-
- All corporate entities are faceless.

-
- You bought AT for some purpose, didn't you? Don't you want to
- make a profit? Man, if I were a shareholder I'd be *really* worried
- right now. I can see it: "Yeah, we're a new kind of corporation: we're
- not interested in making a profit. Do ya want to buy some stock?"
-
- >(myself included) involved in VisCorp are ex-Commodore folks, both
- >managers and engineers. We're the same group that brought you CDTV.
-
- Never had much use for CDTV; it wasn't a personal computer.
-
- >Believe it or not, there are people in charge of the Amiga that

-
- Most people hered *don't* care about the tecknology; we care about
- the Amiga OS - ie the Amiga personal computer.

- >products so anything we do to promote the current Amiga lines only
- >helps us in the long run. We intend to continue production of existing

-
- Folks, these people are a set-top company, not a personal computer
- company. It sounds to me like they're hoping we're all going
- to go out and buy they're set-top because it says 'amiga' on the
- front.
-
- >Our primary purpose for wanting to aquire the technology is to support

-
- Perhaps you guys could license the OS to someone who cares about the
- amiga PC?
-
- >architecture is key to our own products and we wanted to insure its
- >future.
-
- Congradulations.
-
- >We *like* the Amiga and intend to keep up production of the current
- >models. The vision isn't dead, it's being reborn.
-
- Phew. I feel reassured now.
